BCOE ANNUAL BANQUET

This year’s theme is "Back to the Future".

Did we mention everything we are offering?

For one, a professional photographer will be taking pictures of all student organizations and of the event (which will later be available to download). So look your best!

We’ll also have a live DJ keeping the party going!

Did we mention the Gourmet Buffet? Yes, buffet style! That means lots of good food! So come early because everyone grabs seconds and it could be gone before you know it!

And also, you can’t miss our 1st Engineers got Talent! BCOE Organizations are going to compete to demonstrate who has the best talent! Is it going to be SWE, ACM, IEEE, SHPE, NSBE, SAE, MRS, EWB, ASME, AiChE, BMES, LC…???? Come find out!

DUCOMMUN AEROSTRUCTURE COMPANY TOUR

 NSBE has gladly extended the invitation to join them for a tour at Ducommun AeroStructures on May 21st, 2010 at 9:30AM.

We will meet in EBU2 parking lot at 7:50AM and leave approximately at 8:00AM.

This is a great opportunity for all engineering majors because they are looking for minorities like us for internship and full-time positions for this year. They will be accepting resumes on-site.

You must be a US citizen to attend.

DIA DEL NIÑO CONFERENCE

WHEN: FRIDAY, MAY 21ST, 2010

TIME: 10:00AM-12:00PM

We will be helping out MECHA with 2 interactive Workshops for 5th graders on Friday, May 21st 2010 from 10:00-AM-12:00PM. Each workshop will be 1 hour.

We need lots of volunteers to wear that nice blue SHPE shirt and inspire kids to become involved in science and engineering.

We did the same a few weeks ago and it was FUN so let’s do this again!

* We will arrive there at around 9:15 so that we have time to get everything organized.

SHPE 2010 ANNUAL BANQUET

Our Annual banquet will be taking place on Friday, May 21st, 2010 at 6:30PM in the HUB 355.

It is time to celebrate our achievements and stories throughout the year in this elegant banquet.

We will have music, speeches, recognitions, 3-course meal (including cheesecake), chit-chat time, and even time to dance. Let’s make this banquet an unforgettable one. We have had a great year and now it is time to CELEBRATE!

All SHPE members, Alumni, and other SHPE professional are more than welcome to attend and invite their friends. So please forward this information to anybody who could be interested in joining us this year.

Tickets are only $10 per person and can be picked up at any of the meetings or from almost anyone in the E-board. You can also email shpeatucr@gmail.com and request to reserve yours.

Entry Level IT Quality Assurance Tester (Bi-Lingual Spanish)

Location: Irvine, CA

The Entry level IT incumbent will be using their recently acquired technical acumen to test enhancements to our “my verizon” application. This is the application our customers use for self service. It is in both English and Spanish.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree (May/June/July 2010) in Computer Science / Information Systems, Computer Engineering or close equivalent major (3.0gpa+)

Bi-Lingual Spanish

Technical aptitude, including the ability to understand detailed technical information

PC literacy, including working knowledge of desktop applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, e-mail, etc.)

Working knowledge of information systems concepts

Good interpersonal skills, including the ability to follow directions
Good organizational and problem solving abilities
Good verbal and written communications skills
